To begin any editing or restoration, we need a digital version of your image. If you don’t already have one, we’ll either scan it on a flatbed or photograph it with a high-resolution camera. Once we have the digital file, a technician will review it to provide an accurate estimate of the time it will take to complete the work. Sometimes, issues that aren’t visible at first become clear during the scanning process, especially when the image is being enlarged. For this reason, we can not provide an estimate before the scanning process.

It’s important to note that the scan is a separate charge and is required even if you choose not to move forward. The good news is that you'll still receive a high-quality digital copy of your image, whether or not you proceed with the editing service.

Our digital editing is done by hand, by one of our skilled technicians. Using a mixture of techniques, they work to restore life into your old memories, or simply retouch and fine-tune your images to look their best.

For severely damaged or faded photos, we may use AI tools to get things started. AI is just the first step in that process. Every image still gets the full attention of a skilled technician to ensure the final result is thoughtful, accurate, and human-made.
